General Information

Oxford is located in the South East region of EnglandUnited Kingdom and is home to the oldest university in the UK, Oxford University.  Oxford is known for its diverse economic base which includes motor manufacturing, publishing houses, IT and science based businesses, not to mention its education.

Oxford has been an established town since the 9th century and today is a busy, vibrant and cosmopolitan town, with a mix of past and present.  Many colleges make up the university and with their graceful buildings surrounded by winding cobbled streets, Oxford attracts hundreds of tourists each year.

The oldest colleges date as far back as approximately 750 years and it appears that little has changed over this time.  Traditions, dress codes and architecture remains;  allowing tourists to experience the colleges as all those in the past have done.

However, the university is only part of Oxford’s history and name and today this town has a multitude of things to do and see, along with smart restaurants, trendy bars and pubs along with exclusive shopping.
