General Information
Manchester is located in the North West region of England, United Kingdom. Once processing more than 65% of the worlds cotton Manchester still holds international acclaim. Manchester United, the wealthiest and most popular football team in the world, is based here and the city attracts plenty of tourists to Old Trafford football stadium.
Tourists flock to the large Chinatown in the city's centre - the Chinese community is one of the largest in Europe. Manchester and the northern parts of the country are served by the city's airport which is the third busiest airport in Britain. Oasis and Take That are only two of the many well-known musicians that originate from Manchester.
Manchester is a vibrant and cosmopolitan university city, with many activities and attractions. A broad canal network remains from the Industrial Revolution and is today mostly used for leisure. Another great tourist attraction for this city is the Manchester Food and Drink festival held every Autumn.
